Instruments: Diagnostical instruments: South Oacks Gambling Screen (SOGS, Lesieur H.R., Blume S.B.), Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20, Taylor G.J), Rorschach Test, Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI, Cloninger C. R.).
Outcomes: All subjects have been identified as pathological gamblers according to SOGS parameters; most of them reported high alexythimia scores according to TAS-20, known in literature as a possible risk factor for gambling. Rorscharch Test (according to Klopfer signing) has shown general difficulty in impulses control associated with high anguish levels; TCI: a medium-elevate score in the Novelty Seeking (NS) dimension detects that gamblers in our sample are frequently involved in exciting and original activities, but quickly giving up, due to their poor faculty of frustration tolerance or reward delay.
